One of the most scenic segments of the Washington Coast with needlelike sea stacks, caves, arches, tidal pools and miles of sandy beaches. CAUTION: Please be aware of high tides so you do not get stranded and if playing in the surf, be aware of the massive ripe tides in this area.
Directions: From Port Angeles, drive Hwy 112 to the Makah Village of NEah Bay. Follow signs at the end of town to "Air Force Base and Ocean Beaches. Stay on the public road. Turn left over the Waatch River and in about 6 miles cross the Sooes River and go mast the Makah homes on Mukkaw Bay. Park either near the houses or where the road gets sloppy. Car break-ins are a big problem so it is better to pay one of the families to park on their property. Not a guarantee of safety, but a much better chance.
