This great campsite is located on the Skykomish River and sits right in the middle of old-growth firs, very rare indeed. Look for a campsite away from the river because Hwy 2 is just on the other side. If you camp here, plan to drive a short distance to the Iron Goat Railroad trail which is an easy hike along a former Stevens Pass railroad corridor. If you fish, DO NOT forget to bring your gear. This is one of the best areas west areas for trout fish and is a haven for fly fishermen, but spinning gear works well also.

Directions: From US2 by Index, turn north on Index-Galena Road and drive 14 miles NE to the campground on the right must before the tunnel.
