One of the most memorable areas to hike and if you like company, go there on a weekend and just try to find a campsite! Lake Ann is situated in a basin below the Curtis Clacier on Mt. Shuksan and looks like a travelog brochure picture. This is 8 miles round trip with only a 1,000' elevation gain. If you plan on staying over night continue about a 1/2 mile farther.

Directions: Drive Hwy 542 to the Mt. Baker ski area, continue on gravel road about 1.5 miles upto the parking lot at Austin Pass at 4,700'. Snow stays around into the summer months.
