Heart Lake
--

This hike takes you into the Soleduck Forest and into the Seven Lakes Basin area. This area can be like a freeway with all the hikers during the peak season but Heart Lake is far enough in from the most popular area that is usually does not get as many visitors. It is also a great place to camp then spend some time exploring the High Divide and Cat Peak. These two will give you some of the most beautiful and expansive views in the Olympics. This is a 14 mile round trip and gains 2,800 '. It is not a tough hike and seems shorter when you hike it.

Directions: Drive US 101 west from Lake Crescent wmiles to the Soleduck River road. Turn left 14.2 miles to the road end and the trail head.
