Granite Mountain Lookout
--

This is a tough 4 mile hike that has a total elevation gain of 3,800' and can be a bit dry on the way up so carry plenty of water. The steep hike up is worth the effort due to the magnificent views from the lookout at 5,600'. This hike also has a perfuse amount of wildflowers allong the trail.

Kaleetan, Chair and Bryant peaks are readily indentifiable along with great views of Crystal and Tuscohatchie lakes from the trail. There is an operational lookout on the top of Granite Mountain so please ask the ranger on duty permission before climbing on the lookout. Do not fee or tease the Rangers - they will bite if provoked.

Directions: Take I-90 to exit 47 and park nearby the Pratt Lake Trailhead
