A tremendous view of Mt. Rainier, the Clearwater River Valley, Mearhad Mountain and Independence Ridge await those who hike this great little trail. This is a simple day hike of 3 miles round trip and has an elevation gain of 1,050'. You will reach the false summit at just over 1 mile and come to a fork in the trail. Keep left on the ridge to the 5,236' peak. The false summit actually has a nice view south and west.
Directions: Drive Hwy 410 east from Enumclaw 22 miles and turn off on the West Fork White River Road. Just shy of 7 miles the road crosses the river and starts to climbing. Continue 11.5 miles then stay left and follow the road to the end to the parking area.
