Mt. Ellinor
-

This is a 2.5 miles round trip hike to the timberline and for those in good shape, they can continue up another steep 1,450’ to the summit, but the views at the top of the timberline are really just as good as from the summit. This is a dry hike so you need to take plenty of water with you. If it is not a cloudy or fog day, you can usually see all the way to Mount Rainier!

Hiking time is about 2 hours round trip and the elevation gain to the timberline is 1,000'.

Directions: Drive US 101 along Hood Canal to Hoodsport. Turn west 9 miles on the Lake Cushman road to a junction. Turn right 1.6 miles then left 4.9 miles on Big creek Road to the signed trailhead.
