Barclay Lake
 --

It is a 1 1/4 mile hike into Barclay Lake which only gains about 650’ so it is pretty easy and there are numerous campsites. For those that are strong, a great day hike is up to Stone Lake (more a puddle then a lake) and then on into Paradise Meadows and to Eagle Creek. From Barclay to Eagle is 3 miles, the first 1 3/4 mile is hiking straight up with an elevation gain of 1,000’. Paradise Meadows is one of the most beautiful areas in the state and worth the hike.

Directions: Drive US 2 six miles from Index junction. Turn left at Baring on 635 Place NE, cross railroad tracks and go 4 1/2 miles on road 6024 to trail head.
