This is a spectacular lake with one of the nicest views of Mt. Rainier you will find. There are trails everywhere as well as rock climbing, snow climbing, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming and anything you can think of to do on a 9 mile long lake. During the fall you can see the Sockeye salmon, bright red and ready to head up the rivers to spawn.
Anderson point is a great place to camp with fantastic views and only 1.8 miles from the dam. Continuing on to Maple Tree Campground is also a great trip and is just shy of 2 miles farther. The trail follow the lakes edge about 20-50' above and is very easy to hike.
