Lake Annette
 --

This is a very popular hike to a small lake beneath the western face of Silver Peak. The trail to Annette Lake follows an old road for a short distance before turning onto a true trail. Walk through recovering clear cut and encounter the John Wayne trail after about 1¼ mile. The trail then switchbacks up gaining elevation before leveling off about a mile before the lake. This is a 7.5 mile round trip with about 1,700' elevation gain. There is a water fall at the east end in the Silver-Abiel saddle and there are only a handful of camping sites and they are usually crowded. Great in the winter for snowshoeing, cross-country skiers and climbers heading for Silver and Abiel peaks. Super day hike and also a great scramble up Abiel peak.

Directions: Drive I-90 east taking exit 47 then turning right then left for a 1/2 mile to the parking lot.
